Description: | Dark metallic hematite pseudomorphs after magnetite crystals up to 25 mm across. This formation started as magnetite, then altered atom by atom to hematite maintaining the magnetite form. The core still has magnetite inside. Ex. Steve Chamberlain collection #2483; originally acquired in 1980 |
