Locality:Charcas District, San Luis Potosi, Mexico
Description:Large glassy calcite crystals with no matrix attached. The calcite crystals are tabular form with gray outer layers, white middle layers, and are transparent yellow in the core. The calcite fluoresces orange under UV illumination. Ex. Richard V. Gaines (1917-1999), co-author of Dana's Mineralogy 8th ed.
