Mineral:Hoploscaphites Cheyennensis and Sphenodiscus Lenticularis Fossil
Locality:Fox Hills Formation, Pennington County, South Dakota
Description:Fossilized hoploscaphites 18 mm across exposed in sedimentary matrix with a larger sphenodiscus fossil on the right end. The original mother of pearl inner shell layer is still present on the outside of the hoploscaphites with greenish iridescence.
