Locality:Emmons Quarry, southeastern slope of Uncle Tom Mountain, Greenwood, Oxford County, Maine
Description:Black-brown manganese-oxide pseudomorph after a prismatic rhodochrosite crystal 132 mm long. The pseudomorph is complete all around, and has no matrix attached. The exact species is unknown, though it is most likely cryptomelane.
