Mineral:Calcite with Chalcopyrite and Sphalerite
Locality:Tri-State Lead Mining District, Picher, Ottawa County, Oklahoma
Description:Scalenohedral calcite crystals up to 50 mm long with metallic chalcopyrite crystals to 5 mm and brown sphalerite crystals to 3 mm. The calcite has white outer layers with blue-green Cu-oxide staining. (Lambert valued this specimen at $1100.) Ex. Robert C. Lambert (1919-2008) #431; ex. J. Weber
