Mineral:Calcite (Mn-rich) with Pyrite
Locality:Pachapaqui District, Bolognesi Province, Ancash Department, Peru
Description:Blocky pale-pink calcite crystals up to 20 mm across with yellow-metallic 1 mm pyrite crystals scattered over several sides of the specimen. The pink color of the calcite is due to high manganese content. Fluoresces orange under UV illumination. Ex. Robert C. Lambert #147; acquired in 1991
