Mineral:Limonite pseudomorphs after Siderite
Locality:Roxbury Iron Mine, Mine Hill, Roxbury, Litchfield County, Connecticut
Description:Sharp, well defined limonite pseudomorphs after rhombohedral siderite crystals up to 15 mm. The siderite crystallized first, then the outer layers altered to limonite maintaining the original shape. The inner cores are still siderite.
