Mineral:Corundum var. Ruby in Zoisite
Locality:Longido, Arusha, Tanzania
Description:Large hexagonal ruby crystal, the red-pink gem variety of the mineral species corundum, in green zoisite matrix. This is the end of the crystal, as it is not exposed on the rear of the specimen. One face was sawn flat and polished to highlight the color.
