Description:Three cleavages of transparent colorless calcite that survived the famous 1882 fire that damaged much of the collection. This variety is known as Iceland Spar. The original catalog numbers washed off during cleaning. Ex. Charles Upham Shepard (1804-1886) collection at Amherst College; ex. Steve Chamberlain collection #2489
