Mineral:Chalcopyrite (twinned crystals) on Sphalerite
Locality:Casapalca District, Huarochiri Province, Peru
Description:Large yellow-metallic chalcopyrite crystals up to 15 mm on lustrous black sphalerite crystals to 5 mm across. The chalcopyrite crystals are twinned through the center and have gray-metallic surface coating, possibly of tetrahedrite. Ex. Steve Chamberlain collection #6682; originally acquired in 1983
