Description:Several Herkimer Diamonds (a variety of colorless quartz crystals found near Herkimer, NY) on matrix coated with smaller drusy quartz crystals. Specimens of Herkimer Diamonds on matrix are rare because they tend to pop off during collecting. Ex. Chas. W. Velte Jr. (1914-1987)
