Mineral:Lepidolite over Muscovite in Albite
Locality:Pulsifer Quarry, Mount Apatite, Auburn, Androscoggin County, Maine
Description:Large muscovite mica crystal 7 cm across with 5-8 mm overgrowth of pink lepidolite mica on the outer edges. The muscovite-lepidolite mica is embedded in white albite and one end is terminated where it is in the albite. Ex. Steve Chamberlain collection #4351; acquired in 1982 from R. Bentley; collected by T. Szenics
