Description:Translucent amber-red carnelian, a variety of chalcedony quartz used by lapidaries, with transparent areas visible when rear-illuminated. Note that this is not from more common Stirling Brook (Carnelian Brook). Ex. Bob Holzer (1934-2009) collection
