Locality:Kiran, Koksha Valley, Badakhshan, Afghanistan
Description:Transparent purple sodalite crystal, variety hackmanite, in white marble (incomplete on rear). The sodalite crystal is tenebrescent: fades to light-lavender in daylight, but turns deep purple after exposure to UV illumination. Ex. Bob Holzer (1934-2009) collection
