Locality:Spruce Pine District, Mitchell County, North Carolina
Description:Large complex crystal of brown-black almandine garnet with remnants of muscovite and albite included in the bottom. The old label indicated the species was pyrope garnet, which is highly unlikely. Ex. J. Cilen (1916-1997) #12860
