Description:Star-shaped formation of siliceous sinter, a fine grained layered silica deposited in a geyser that may be composed of quartz, opal, or both. Clearly the underlying form is that of quartz crystals, but the outer layers are microcrystalline. S.G.=2.49 Collected in 1995
