Mineral:Quartz pseudomorph after Crocidolite (Tiger-Eye)
Locality:headwaters of the Orange River, Northern Cape Province, South Africa
Description:Large vein of tiger-eye with bands of golden color. Tiger-eye is caused by quartz pseudomorphs after fibrous crocidolite crystals. The tiger-eye is wavy and has a chatoyant reflection. Could be cut into many large cabochons or other lapidary uses
