Description:Fractured green peridot, the gem variety of the mineral species forsterite, in gray volcanic matrix. The peridot is internally transparent, occasionally large enough for use as gemstones. This locality is a maar volcanic crater in SE New Mexico. Ex. Peter B. Nalle (1923-2010) collection
