Description:White quartz with mariposite crystals, the green chrome-rich variety of the mineral species muscovite. Mariposite was first described by Silliman in 1868 and is the rock sought by gold miners as indicative of gold bearing rock. Ex. Peter B. Nalle (1923-2010) collection #333b; collected 1947
