Mineral:Quartz var. Amethyst pseudomorph after Anhydrite with Gmelinite
Locality:Upper New Street Quarry, Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey
Description:Elongated specimen of pink-gray quartz pseudomorph after diverging spray of bladed anhydrite crystals to 18 cm long with deep purple amethyst crystals to 4 mm exposed around the perimeter. Translucent gray gmelinite crystals to 2 mm grew on the face. Ex. John Geiges collection #854
