Locality:Crestmore Quarry, Crestmore, Riverside County, California
Description:Blue microcrystals of an unidentified species designated by Murdoch as Mineral Y. Dr. Kampf of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County reports that Miner Y is equivalent (or very similar) to Whelanite. Ex. Peter B. Nalle (1923-2010) collection, employed at Crestmore 1951-1969, rising to managing director of Riverside Cement Co.
