Locality:Crestmore Quarry, Crestmore, Riverside County, California
Description:Lustrous translucent green grossular garnet crystals lining a cavity in crystallized grossular matrix. The cavity where the grossular crystals formed was filled with translucent blue calcite which almost completely etched away to expose the grossular. Ex. Clarence Jenni (1896-1973) in 1957; ex. Peter B. Nalle (1923-2010) collection #356b, employed at Crestmore 1951-1969, rising to managing director of Riverside Cement Co.
