Description:Sharp, well-formed hematite pseudomorphs after octahedral magnetite crystals to 12 mm. This formation was formerly known as a separate mineral, martite, but it is now understood that this is a pseudomorph after magnetite. Ex. Peter B. Nalle (1923-2010) collection; acquired from Burminco
