Mineral:Prehnite pseudomorph after Anhydrite with Calcite
Locality:Prospect Park Quarry, Prospect Park, Passaic County, New Jersey
Description:Translucent green prehnite pseudomorph after bladed anhydrite crystals to 60 mm long. The anhydrite formed first, then was overgrown by prehnite crystals, finally the anhydrite dissolved away. Brown calcite crystals to 3 mm later coated the prehnite. Ex. Steve Chamberlain collection #6889; ex. Ken Walling in 1985; ex. John Geiges collection #882; acquired in 2003 from M. Walter
