Mineral:Fluorite (interpenetrant-twinned crystals) and Calcite
Locality:Weardale, County Durham, England
Description:Exceptionally transparent lustrous green fluorite crystals to 8 mm on one face of matrix with translucent gray calcite crystals to 4 mm scattered throughout. The fluorite crystals are all interpenetrant-twinned and fluoresce violet under UV illumination. Collected ca. 1920; acquired in 1998 from Lawrence H. Conklin (1933-2016)
