Description:Cleaved fragment of brown-black aeschynite-(Y). Originally named blomstrandine, this mineral species was renamed by the IMA in 1966 to aeschynite-(Y). The fresh surfaces have an oily luster. Radioactive Ex. Chas. W. Velte Jr. (1914-1987)
