Locality:headwaters of the Orange River, Northern Cape Province, South Africa
Description:Large vein of tiger-eye with bands of golden color caused by quartz pseudomorphs after fibrous riebeckite-crocidolite crystals with wavy, chatoyant reflections and luster. Large specimens like this have many lapidary uses for carving and jewelry.
