Locality:Tynebottom Mine, Garrigill, Alston Moor District, Cumbria, England
Description:Vivid magenta-purple translucent calcite microcrystals lining the surfaces of a small cavity in gray matrix. The intense color of the calcite is caused by cobalt impurities and these are commonly labeled cobaltoan calcite. From one-time find collected by John and Robert Lawson in May 1987
