Mineral:Rhodochrosite stalactite
Locality:Capillitas Mine, Catamarca, Argentina
Description:Section of a cylindrical rhodochrosite stalactite with one end sawn flat and polished to highlight the concentric pink growth patterns. The sides of the stalactite have tan-colored outer layer of calcite that is incomplete in areas. Ex. Dr. N. Luppescu
