Mineral:Wurtzite (sphalerite pseudomorphs after wurtzite?) and Galena on Quartz
Locality:railroad cut near Thomaston Dam, Litchfield County, Connecticut
Description:Lustrous transparent colorless quartz crystals to 3 mm lining the walls of convoluted cavities with a 6 mm gray-metallic cubic galena crystal and many small dark-gray wurtzite crystals to 2 mm which may be sphalerite pseudomorphs after wurtzite. Ex. Tom Penney collection, collected in the 1970s.
Overall Size:7x3.5x2.5 cm
Crystals:0.2-6.0 mm
