Locality:Central Highland Belt, near Ratnapura, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon)
Description:Large transparent blue sapphire crystal (the gem variety of the mineral species corundum, with di-pyramidal form and striated crystal faces caused by alternating prism and pyramidal faces. The sapphire has only slight alluvial edge wear. Weight: 22.29 carats
