Locality:Tilly Foster Iron Mine, near Brewster, Putnam County, New York
Description:Two parallel intergrown well-formed chondrodite crystals on magnetite-rich matrix. The chondrodite crystals have silky surface luster and are translucent red-brown color. Classic specimen from a famous mine closed in 1897 after a collapse.
