Mineral:Sapphirine in Calcite with Phlogopite
Locality:Itrongay, Betroka District, Tulear, Madagascar
Description:Translucent blue-gray hexagonal sapphirine crystal embedded in translucent pale-yellow calcite with brown phlogopite mica on one end. The sapphirine crystal is doubly-terminated, though one end is enclosed by the calcite (could be excavated).
Overall Size:25x15x12 mm
