Mineral:Quartz var. Smoky Quartz (Dauphiné-law twinned)
Locality:Moat Mountain, west of North Conway, Carroll County, New Hampshire
Description:Doubly-terminated transparent smoky quartz crystal with lustrous faces that have suture patterns on the prism faces indicating it is twinned following the Dauphine Law of quartz twinning. Internally the smoky quartz crystal is nearly flawless throughout. Ex. Tom Penney collection, collected in the 1960s-70s.
