Mineral:Microcline (Manebach Law twins) with Smoky Quartz
Locality:Black Cap Mountain, east of North Conway, Carroll County, New Hampshire
Description:Large tan-brown microcline feldspar crystals that are twinned following the Manebach Law of feldspar twinning with the twin plane visible running vertically on the front face of the crystals. Minor smoky quartz crystals are scattered throughout. Ex. Thomas A. Penney (1934-2019) collection, collected in the 1970s.
