Mineral:Quartz Geode with Calcite
Locality:Las Choyas, Chihuahua, Mexico
Description:Half of a hollow spherical quartz geode that was sawn open to reveal the center lined with sparkling amethystine smoky quartz crystals to 6 mm and brown calcite crystals to 13 mm. An intermediate layer fluoresces green under SW UV illumination.
