Locality:railroad cut near Thomaston Dam, Litchfield County, Connecticut
Description:Lustrous yellow-metallic pyrite crystals exposed on the surface of translucent calcite. The pyrite crystals are cubic form with edges that appear to be damaged, but are naturally crystallized dodecahedral edge faces and octahedral corner faces. Ex. Thomas A. Penney (1934-2019) collection #444, collected in the 1970s by a construction worker at the site.
