Mineral:Quartz var. Tessin habit with Magnesite
Locality:Becker Quarry, West Willington, Tolland County, Connecticut
Description:Exposed narrow vein showing the walls lined with lustrous transparent Tessin-habit (repeated alternating termination and prism faces forming stepped, tapered crystals) quartz crystals to 12 mm with translucent gray rhombic magnesite crystals to 4 mm. Personally collected during the Lapidary and Mineral Society of Central Connecticut field trip ca. 1995. see article The Remarkable Quartz Crystals of West Willington, Tolland County, Connecticut in Rocks and Minerals v.78 #4
