Description:Classic specimen of prismatic tan diopside crystal found in the marble deposits at Sing Sing. The diopside crystal is a flattened hexagonal prism with many parallel termination faces. This quarry closed in the 1890s is adjacent to the famous prison. Ex. Ray Ranstrom collection; originally acquired from Wards
