Description: | Lustrous vivid-purple translucent rhombohedral calcite crystals lining a shallow cavity in gray matrix. The intense color of the calcite crystals is caused by cobalt impurities and a frequently labeled as Cobaltoan Calcite (an invalid mineral name). Ex. D. Miller collection #M1169 |
