Locality:Pierre Formation, Dawson County, South Dakota
Description:Fossilized hoploscaphites nodosus 32 mm across exposed in sedimentary matrix with impressions of a missing fossil on the rear. The core of the fossil was filled with lustrous transparent calcite (visible on the top edge where the core is exposed). Collected ca. 1985
