Locality:Delaware Aqueduct Shaft 2A, Wawarsing, Ulster County, New York
Description:Heavy crystalline mass of lustrous gray-metallic galena with minor calcite, sphalerite impurities from the aqueduct that supplies the water for New York City. An unidentified mineral fluoresces green under SW UV illumination, possibly hyalite opal. From my personal collection; collected ca. 1995 on behalf of the NY State Museum
