Locality:Upper New Street Quarry, Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey
Description:Lustrous transparent gray calcite crystals filling quartz pseudomorphs after anhydrite crystals. The anhydrite formed first; was overgrown with fine-grained quartz; the anhydrite later dissolved; then calcite grew in the elongated molds of anhydrite. From my personal collection; collected ca. 1985
