Mineral:Arfvedsonite (rare terminated Arfvedsonite crystal) on Microcline with Zircon
Locality:Hurricane Mountain, east of Intervale, Carroll County, New Hampshire
Description:Lustrous black arfvedsonite crystals to 15 mm in white microcline crystals to 10 mm with brown zircon crystals to 1 mm. A 7 mm arfvedsonite crystal is terminated with a flat face that is not etched (rare). In SW UV zircon = orange, microcline = red. Ex. Thomas A. Penney (1934-2019) collection, collected in the 1960s-70s
