Mineral:Calcite over Quartz
Locality:LaFarge Quarry, Ravena, Albany County, New York
Description:Lustrous transparent colorless calcite crystals to 13 mm over transparent gray quartz crystals to 2 mm with remnants of gray matrix on rear. The calcite crystals are rhombohedral form with parallel linear patterns on the faces, probably due to etching. From my personal collection; collected on the Albany Mineral Club field trip in April 2008
