Mineral:Rhodochrosite with Pyrite on Quartz
Locality:Raura District, Cajatambo Province, Peru
Description:Translucent pink rhombohedral rhodochrosite crystals to 1 mm over lustrous transparent colorless quartz crystals to 1 mm in spherical aggregates to 7 mm diameter with scattered lustrous yellow-metallic pyritohedral pyrite crystals to 2 mm. Collected ca. 1985. Fluoresces deep-red under 365 nm LW UV illumination
