|Calcite over Sphalerite with Bitumen
|Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County, Tennessee
|Lustrous pale-yellow transparent doubly-terminated scalenohedral calcite crystals to 34 mm over a plate of brown sphalerite. Black bitumen balls (naturally occurring hydrocarbon) are scattered over the surfaces, and included within the calcite. Collected ca. 2005
