Locality:Phoenix Mine, Keweenaw County, Michigan
Description:Large, well-defined native copper crystals with dark natural patina. The copper crystals are in branching formations that grew off central spine crystals. The copper is fully crystallized on all faces with no matrix attached. Ex. Albert H. Chester (1843-1903), professor at Hamilton College, later at Rutgers College; ex. Rutgers College Geology Museum; collected ca. 1891-1903
