Mineral:Almandine Garnet and Biotite Mica
Locality:Pipeline excavation, south of Diamond Lake, Glastonbury, Hartford County, Connecticut
Description:Distinct red-black almandine garnet crystals to 8 mm surrounded by fine-grained black biotite mica on one face of quartz-schist. The almandine crystals are dodecahedral form, with trapezohedral edge faces, and have a black iron-oxide coating. From my personal collection; collected ca. 1994
