Description: | Cluster of distinct translucent dark red-black chondrodite crystals to 22 mm on matrix with platy green micaceous clinochlore crystals to 8 mm. The date of this specimen coincides with the first description of minerals by O.D. Allen in spring of 1872 Ex. W.W. Jefferis #1880, acquired April 26, 1872 (one of the first specimens found); ex. Carnegie Museum of Natural History; illustrated in Mineralogical Record |
